The Coach's Corner

Recently I was in Chicago for a media tour promoting our Gen Why Project for homeless youth.  One of  the highlights of Chicago was appearing live on NBC TV in primetime.  Here is the clip!  Please take a few minutes to watch…it was an awesome experience.

By the way, in the video I mention how I give my book, Monetize Your Passion, away for free in exchange for an optional charity donation.  In case you don’t have your copy yet, please go to http://www.richgerman.com/mypfreebook

Thank you and please help spread the word on the Gen Why Project!

Fantastic job! Keep helping the children.

I couldn’t contribute, but I want to help. I would like to help these kids with homework, learning and reading. One of the networks did a moving segment on homeless kids in FL. The movie ” The Pursuit of Hapiness” had poignant scenes of homelessness. If I can succeed in getting out of poverty, I really want to work with these kids! And with children of incarcerated parents! Help me get involved, please! Ruth

    Moderation? Meaning what?

  • Thank you Ruth…we need people like you. What did you mean by ‘moderation?’

A comment appeared after I posted my comment, “Your comments are subject to moderation”. I guess it meant editing.

    Hi Rich,
The news piece and message were great and so were you. What a fantastic cause! It is so important for everyone to be involved and do public service to help those who are struggling.
We will make a contribution in your honor.
    Way to go,
    Sandy

  • Thank you Sandy!

In all respect to homeless children, I’m scared of what will happen to the people when countries such as Libya, Pakistan iraq and Iran will totally fall. It already happened to Somalia and Russia, even though they are better off now than udner those bastards of a communist regime. Rather be bludgeoned than live under a communist regime such as that bastard Castro and that even bigger bastard of a nihilist Hu Jintao. Countries should help each other and not concentrate on rubbish military. BVM!

Marxism says : Peoples must be united , work together , die together , no one eat less or much , every one must be equal , work for good of humanity for each other .

Capitalism says : everybody for his own self , dont work for others work only for your self , do the best for your self , bee strong , dont give up , be the number one .

I think Americans should use thier power to give these guys happiness instead of going into Iraq Or Pakistan and fucking up terrorists. Those guys were in there too long. They killed bin laden so yeah the war on terror is OVER Next stop should be combatting poverty.

Are these kids homeless because they are getting abused or parentless? or are they homeless because they want to do what they want…drugs, cigarettes….?

  • Casanova

Being Canadian and ex Dutch, I have to say that the US might think that they have it all together, They don’t seem to notice the problems in their own back yard.

Having grown up in the Netherlands, I would admit that they have a much better social system than Canada. Now being clasified as disabled, I living on a disability pension. It’s not the answer. As for going back to the Neterlands, not as long as I’m a live.

Those children are just parentless or they parents are living in poverty, the result- the homeless. It’s stupid to make fun since those people are in need while you are well nourished and have a normal shelter. what drugs are you talking about in this age? Can you tell me how a heck anyone can be on drugs if they even don’t have a proper food.

  • Rhonda Goldman

This is very sad, one of the saddest things I have ever seen. These are children.

  • SO cool Rich, you’vemade it into the BIG LEAGUES!

  • Shelly Jackson

I wish more people would devote their lives to helping poverty as many have. I was once a street child. It isn’t a good life at all obviously. I was lucky to get a job working for this generation of street children.

how can a government take care of it’s citizens when it’s citizens don’t take care of themselves?

Governments, to me, aren’t meant to ensure the lifestyle of their citizens. They should exist to uphold laws that promote equality. Furthermore, government assistance given to those seen to be in need; this is the opposite of equality. It offers superior treatment to those whose family members and themselves have made bad choices. It fosters inequality, regardless of need

Thanks Rich! This video is very upbeat and happy.

  • Thanks for your comments everyone. The issue of homelessness, especially youth homelessness, always gets a reaction. It is not an easy subject to broach but we are committed to creating a voice for these children who have none. They need to know that people care and that they are not alone. They need an opportunity – it is our moral responsibility (in my opinion) to give them that opportunity. Thank you for your support.
